The CASV-ELS is not an improved CASV-EL, but more like a variation for a user with special optic needs. Like all CASV systems, the CASV-ELS relies on "piggy-back" mounting to the top of a “flat-top” M4 upper receiver. But what makes the CASV-ELS different is its forward “Stepped” top rail portion. This forward rail allows the optic (such as most EOTechs) to be placed at the same plane/height as the weapon’s back-up iron sights, i.e. “co-witness”. Co-witnessing allows the end-user to sight-in the optic to the back-up iron sights or vice-versa. This means less time at the range, while sighting in the weapon.

Like the CASV-EL, this model is a “drop-on” rail system for a Carbine-Length gas system that is equipped with a fixed sight-tower/gas block system, as commonly found on most 10.5”, 14.5”, and some 16” barrels. The system also features a removable lower handguard, which allows the access of an M203 barrel-mounted grenade launcher. The smooth body construction allows multiple rail mounting points, adaptable to any mission needs. Each CASV kit features various lengths of removable rails and mounting hardware.

Like all CASVs, the CASV-ELS relies on the use of the Delta Ring for a more secure mounting point. Vltor does not recommend that any CASV handguard be used without the standard Delta Ring assembly. This CASV chassis is made entirely of aluminum, with the exception of the stainless steel mounting hardware. The CASV-ELS is available in Black.

This chassis features a removable lower handguard, which allows the access of an M203 grenade launcher. The smooth body construction allows multiple rail mounting points, adaptable to any mission needs. Each CASV kit features various length removable rails and mounting hardware.

The CASV-S is the same as the CASV-M, but with a step-down design for the proper co-witnessing of Eotech optics.  The CASV-S is intended to be a “drop-on” rail system for a “mid-length” gas system which is equipped with a fixed sight-tower/gas block system. The CASV-M can fit over a carbine length gas system, as long as a “low-profile” gas block is installed.

Like all CASVs, the CASV-S relies on the use of the Delta Ring for a more secure mounting point. Vltor does not recommend the CASV-EL, CASV-M or CASV-S to be used without the standard Delta Ring assembly.  The interior diameter is large enough to allow a 1.375” sound suppressor within the handguard.

This CASV chassis is made entirely of aluminum, with the exception of the stainless steel mounting hardware. After mounted, the CASV-S adds less than 1lb (14.3 oz /384g, without mounted rail sections) to the firearm's overall weight. The CASV-S is only available in Black.
